Ana María Lajusticia Bergasa was born in Bilbao on 26 July 1924, daughter of Jesús Lajusticia Alonso and Delfina Bergasa Goyenechea. Her childhood memories include those related to traditional food and the use of both animal and vegetable ingredients that have gradually disappeared from modern gastronomy. The old way of growing vegetables, the recovery of collagen from meat joints and the long cooking processes were everyday elements that she later wanted to recover in a unique way. Ana María Lajusticia describes a happy childhood that was cut short by the vicissitudes of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939).
At the age of 15, she moved with her family to Madrid. She studied high school and in the 1941-1942 academic year, influenced by her grandmother Felicidad Goyenechea Artaza, she began studying Chemistry.

In 1947, she was considered one of the few women who managed not only to complete her degree, but to do so with merit. She attributed her success to perseverance, discipline and curiosity. In 1947, at just 24 years of age, she was appointed Head of the MINERSA Laboratories, manufacturers of hydrochloric acid in Lejona (Vizcaya). In 1948, she completed an internship at the Osor mines (Gerona), as supervisor of fluorite flotation extraction.
At the age of 43, she was diagnosed with type II diabetes, which did not predict the extraordinary longevity she displays today. Thanks to her training as a chemist, she investigated until she discovered the problem: her diet was deficient, high in carbohydrates, and her breakfasts contained neither proteins nor foods rich in vitamin C.

Through a change in diet and a significant increase in magnesium intake, her life changed. At 52, she stopped wearing a corset and had to face the consequences of the muscular atony that this artificial scaffolding had caused in her back. The healing itself, the discovery in her own skin of how much good a corrected and adjusted diet can do, turned the Basque woman into the champion of the cause of magnesium and other elements that do so much good for our health.

Ana María Lajusticia created her own brand of food supplements with her name and image, with the aim of bringing to all people those nutrients so necessary for the care and maintenance of health. Since then, she has tirelessly dedicated herself to disseminating her extensive knowledge of dietetics and nutrition through different media and thus helping to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Her extensive theoretical and practical knowledge led Ana María Lajusticia to write her first work, 'A balanced diet in modern life', which was an extraordinary success. She has published twelve books, including 'Magnesium, the key to health', 'Arthritis and its solution', 'Diets à la carte', 'Adult problems', 'Nutrition and Intellectual Performance', 'Cholesterol and Triglycerides'.
Among his published books, his first book, published in 1979, 'Magnesium, the key to health', stands out.
