Vegan Restaurants?

Veganism may still be controversial, but vegetarianism is now firmly established among the mainstream diets… no one is surprised when someone doesn't eat meat, and restaurants with an exclusively vegetarian menu have grown exponentially in cities.

From the lunch menu to haute cuisine, more and more establishments offer an exclusively green menu, and that is why we offer you a selection of vegetarian and vegan restaurants with innovative and creative proposals that you cannot miss.

Given the range of restaurants in these cities, we have made a list of the 3 “best”…the best according to different magazines and guides and the most voted by their customers…although you will have to decide the ranking yourself…take note!

Barcelona

Xavier Pellicer Restaurant

An option for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike… after winning a Michelin star, Xavier Pellicer closed the restaurant Celerí, dedicated to vegetables, but with the option of complementing dishes with animal protein. It returned under the name of Xavier Pellicer Restaurant and won the title of Best Vegetable Restaurant in the World. You will find dishes based on pink tomato from Barbastro, zucchini and cauliflower, and a tagine with seasonal vegetables, masala infusion, kale and couscous.

Rasoterra

Rasoterra is more than just a vegan restaurant: it is one of the most emblematic places in the green revolution on Barcelona tables, since they opened in 2013. Chef Adriana Carcelén has increased the gastronomic voltage of their creations. They open at night, and instead of a menu with tapas and main dishes, they have a set menu at 29 euros with an appetizer, starter and second course that can be extended at will.

Teresa Carles

Their recipe book, halfway between Catalan tradition and signature cuisine, is surprising, tasty and without vegetarian dogmas... and the truth is that they have marked an era and continue to do so: they opened in 2011, and soon established themselves as a benchmark for vegetarian restaurants that, instead of imitating cuisine made with animal protein, interpret traditions and invent new dishes. At the helm, the great Teresa Carles, universally from Lleida. Her classic eggplant rolls and vegetable escudella cannot be missing from the list of foodie dishes in the city.
