Contrary to what many believe, it is not just about eliminating fat, but about understanding and addressing a multifactorial process that affects the structure of the skin.

It affects 85-90% of women , even those with less fat. Its origin lies in a destructuring of the subcutaneous adipose tissue , located between the dermis and the muscle.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite, also known as "orange peel skin", is a destructuring of the subcutaneous adipose tissue , located between the dermis and the muscle. In this area, a complex process occurs where edema accumulates, which hardens, forming small sacs that anchor themselves in the skin. This alteration is responsible for the characteristic orange peel skin that we dislike so much.

How many types of cellulite are there?

Cellulite is classified into three degrees:

  • Grade 1: Observed by pinching the skin. This is the initial phase of destructuring.
  • Grade 2: Dimples are visible without pinching.
  • Grade 3: The skin has an irregular texture and may be painful to the touch.

Why does cellulite appear?

The causes of cellulite are multifactorial , but some of the most important factors are:

  • Genetics: Genetic predisposition plays an important role in the appearance of cellulite.
  • Hormones: Estrogen and progesterone influence fat distribution and fluid retention, factors that can contribute to cellulite.
  • Diet: A diet rich in saturated fats, sugars and salt can worsen cellulite
  • Sedentary lifestyle: Lack of physical exercise weakens muscles and encourages the accumulation of fat in the affected area.
  • Stress: Chronic stress can increase the production of cortisol, a hormone that promotes fluid retention and fat accumulation.

How to eliminate cellulite?

While grade 3 cellulite cannot disappear completely, it is possible to significantly improve it . In grades 1 and 2, with proper treatment, cellulite can disappear completely .

A comprehensive approach: the key to success

Given the multiple causes of cellulite, treatment must also be multifactorial .

Diet plays a crucial role in the fight against cellulite. It is recommended to prioritize:

  • Anti-inflammatory nutrients: Cruciferous vegetables, ginger, turmeric...
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: Present in fatty fish, walnuts and flax seeds.
  • Hydration: Drink plenty of water and eat fruits and vegetables rich in water.

Exercise is essential to strengthen muscle tissue , the foundation on which the skin rests. The following are recommended:

  • Muscle toning exercises: Strengthen the affected area without impacting it.
  • Aquatic activities: They take advantage of the resistance of water to tone without damaging the joints.

Forget about impact: it's your enemy!

Avoid high-impact activities such as running or jumping, as they can aggravate tissue destructuring .

Food supplements that help eliminate cellulite

While supplements are not a magic solution, some nutrients can be beneficial in fighting cellulite:

  • Collagen: Helps maintain skin elasticity.
  • Omega 3: allows the permeabilization of the cell membrane and that makes everything work better.
  • Coenzyme Q10: It has antioxidant properties that fight free radicals.
  • Centella asiatica: Improves blood and lymphatic circulation.

Cellulite doesn't have to be a lost battle. While there is no magic solution, a comprehensive approach that combines proper nutrition, correct exercise and targeted treatments can help you say goodbye to it and regain smooth, healthy skin.

Remember that cellulite is a complex problem with multiple causes, so treatment must also be multifactorial. Diet plays a crucial role, prioritizing anti-inflammatory nutrients, omega-3 fatty acids and good hydration. Exercise is essential to strengthen muscle tissue, choosing toning exercises and aquatic activities, avoiding impact. Supplements such as collagen, omega-3, coenzyme Q10 and centella asiatica can be beneficial, although they are not a magic solution.

Consistency and discipline are key on this path to radiant skin. With a comprehensive approach, you can tame cellulite and restore the health and beauty of your skin.
